I only got a short time on Traverse Bay today before the wind really kicked up fast. I got 1 perfect eater size Lake trout and finally first Cisco of season. Was hoping for more but the 25mph winds picked up fast so had to get off the water! I caught these casting blade baits. Yesterday I went 3/5 for Lakers on the pink blade bait and today it was the bloody tail anti freeze one. Water temp still cold at 41.0 degrees. I have several openings in May if looking to book a trip. I take as little as just 1 person to catch these yummy delights!I only jig or cast no trolling fyi…!Let’s go fishing! Get a new change of scenery from the D and come on up here and see all that N/W Michigan has to offer. I had a great day on Traverse Bay today scouting, I got my limit of Lake Trout and then released more. I went to 3 different spots and hooked into fish at each spot. They have Beautiful orange meat and I caught a nice small one to cook whole on the fire very soon! Fished east bay. Water temp was 41.0 degrees. If anyone wants to book a trip for Lakers and Cisco plz reach out as I have several openings. The month of May is a great time to fish Traverse Bay! I can take 1-3 people and if you only have 1 that’s fine as I will do trips if just 1 person as I’m happy to be out there!! We went Mushroom hunting today around mesick area with my awesome wife for Morels and didn’t find any but hit a rare delicacy of fiddlehead ferns popping up. You only have around a 24-48 hour window from when these things pop up to harvest them, any longer time and they grow and unravel and are then no longer good. The key is to get them while they are still tight and curled up which is a very short window so although we didn’t get our primary target we were very happy to get these. We also picked some wild leeks that were out there also and my wife then made a fantastic meal as we fried these up in butter. What a Great day to be out in Mother Nature and then eating what the land provides! Very Blessed and thankful! ... See MoreSee Less
